Thank you for your interest in Meeting Strategist.

My name is Marcel van de Hoef (“I”, “my”, “me”). I am the curator of the Meeting Strategist blog and host of the eponymous podcast. As a former journalist, transparency is very important to me. That’s why I have laid out here what personal information I collect, when this happens, for what reasons, how I use it and how I keep it safe.

Newsletter Subscription

I collect, save and use your email address to be able to distribute the Meeting Strategist newsletter. I will only do this once you have submitted a newsletter request and confirmed your email address through the link you have received in your inbox. I will not use your email address for other purposes.

Use of Analytics and Cookies

I use some necessary and functional cookies for my website, which allow you to navigate and use key features on the site. Furthermore, I use Squarespace Analytics as a reporting platform to get insight into how my website is performing. Through this tool, I collect metadata about the number of visitors, pageviews and popular content. To me this is vital information, as it allows me to constantly improve my website and content.

Parties Who Have Access to Your Data

The only parties that I share your data with are my email distribution service Mailchimp and my website hosting company Squarespace. By their own accounts, they both comply with the GDPR.

Retaining Your Data

I will retain your email address until you unsubscribe via the link included in the footer of my newsletter. If you want access to, correct or delete your personal data stored in the aforementioned systems, please let me know and I will respond to your request within 28 days.

Securing Your Data

I have taken appropriate technical, physical and organizational measures to make sure your data is safe at all times. I intend to comply with the demands of article 32 of the GDPR. 

Right to File a Complaint

If you have doubts about the way I process your data, please contact me through the contact details below. You also have the right to file a complaint with the privacy authorities in The Netherlands or the responsible authorities in the country you live in.

Updates to This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy was created on June 7, 2018. It will be updated from time to time to reflect changes in technology, business operations or any other reason I determine is necessary or appropriate. When I make changes, I will update the “Effective Date” at the top of the privacy policy. I encourage you to check back periodically to review this privacy policy for any changes since your last visit.
